FOR TEENS.

Your city.
Your missions.

No worksheets dressed up as a game, nothing babyish and no tests to dread. Explore at your own pace, take on missions and level up by actually getting it.

01

Explore the city.

Roam a 3D city your way. Head down to the harbour, cut through the streets or follow whatever looks interesting. There’s a mission around every corner.

02A player stands on the harbour at Red Flag Dock in Lesson 1, choosing between a red Flag pad and a green Clean pad.

Play the lesson.

Every mission is a real problem from a school subject, built into the game. Try something, grab a hint, have another go. Getting it wrong is just part of playing.

03✳

Level up for real.

The game notices what you’ve understood. Show you know it and you level up, so every level is something you can actually do.

FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS.

They see a game.
You see the curriculum.

No more nagging about homework. YalCity gives your teenager a reason to practise their school subjects, in a world they choose to spend time in. You get screen time you can feel good about.

Real curriculum, not trivia.

Missions follow the British curriculum for Years 7–11 (ages 11–16): Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, right through the GCSE years. Maths comes first, then Science and Computing, with more subjects month by month.

Personalised, not one-size-fits-all.

Missions adapt to what your teen already knows and how they like to learn. They level up by showing they understand, not by clicking through.

Screen time you can say yes to.

What is YalCity?

YalCity is a 3D educational video game for 11–16-year-olds where school lessons are built into play. Players explore a city, take on personalised missions and use what they’re learning across the British curriculum to solve them.

Will my teenager actually want to play it?

That’s the point. YalCity is designed to feel like a game 11–16-year-olds would pick for themselves: a 3D city to explore, missions to complete and levels to earn, without childish characters or worksheet-style screens. Learning is how you progress, not a break from the game.

Is the learning personalised?

Yes. Every child has their own profile, and YalCity adapts as they play: missions, hints and pacing adjust to what they already know and how they like to learn, so they’re stretched without being left behind.

How does it help with school?

Missions are built on the school subjects covered in Years 7–11 (ages 11–16), from Key Stage 3 through GCSE. Players move forward by showing they understand a topic, so every level reflects something they can actually do, not something they clicked past.

Who is YalCity for?

YalCity is being built for 11–16-year-olds, with learning shaped around the British curriculum for Years 7–11 (ages 11–16), from Key Stage 3 right through Key Stage 4 and GCSE. Parents and guardians manage the membership.

What will be ready at launch?

YalCity covers school subjects across the curriculum, released one at a time. Maths comes first, then Science, then Computing, followed by a new subject month by month. Every subject released during your first year is included. The animated city on this website is an early preview. The playable 3D game, with its curriculum missions, is what members get at launch.

Is the founding price a monthly subscription?

No. It’s one payment for your first year of access. Full price is £100 a year. Founding members get a discount: 90% off if you join in the first month, 80% off in the second, and 10% less each month after that. Once you join, your first-year price is fixed, and there’s no monthly bill.

What happens when more subjects arrive?

Every subject added during your first year is included in your membership. Founding members then renew at 50% off the full annual price at the time. Your initial joining price is not a lifetime rate.

What if I have more than one child?

Choose family membership. It covers up to four children for 50% more than a single membership, so each child costs much less, and everyone gets their own profile.

Does joining the waitlist lock in today’s price?

No. The waitlist is free and keeps you in the loop, but it doesn’t take payment or lock in a price. The founding price rises each month, so the only way to keep today’s price is to pre-buy a founding membership.
